Need a different architecture or package? PhotoCraft v0.10.0 official release ↗ includes all assets, including Linux tar archives and RISC-V DEB and RPM packages. FreeBSD 14 x86_64 users can download the FreeBSD archive and follow the dependencies in the release README.

How do I verify a download?

  1. Check that the release belongs to storytold/photocraft.
  2. Download the build and SHA256SUMS.txt from the same release.
  3. Calculate the SHA-256 digest locally and compare the full value with the matching filename in the checksum file.
Windows PowerShell:
Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\photocraft-0.10.0-windows-x64.msi

macOS:
shasum -a 256 photocraft-0.10.0-macos-universal.dmg

Linux:
sha256sum photocraft-0.10.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage

A matching checksum confirms the file matches that published checksum; it is not a security audit.

What changed in PhotoCraft 0.10.0?

The upstream release was published on October 18, 2026. Its notes describe changes since 0.9.0. These are maintainer reports, not tests performed by this site.

  • Brush controls add pressure response curves and image files as brush tips.
  • The Pen tool supports Shift constraints at 45 degrees. Repeated arrow-key nudges share one History step.
  • PDF saving supports one flattened page with an ICC color profile. It is not a layered PDF workflow.
  • Fixes cover PSD import limits, masked transforms and Windows graphics startup.

Which version is this guide based on?

These download links and release notes refer to 0.10.0, checked on October 18, 2026. The hosted browser editor uses 0.10.0. Read its browser verification record. Our recorded headless MCP and PSD checks use 0.8.2. They do not verify the behavior of the new desktop release.

The browser archive SHA-256 checked for this site is b121472d1cdc2f24530b8239c4f32843afdbc1da994244e98a2ce4835b410590.

The upstream app is early alpha. Keep original files and avoid using an untested build as the only copy of important work.

Launcher or standalone PhotoCraft?

The official product page distinguishes the ArtCraft Launcher, which manages installation and updates for the app family, from standalone PhotoCraft, which installs the editor alone. This guide links the standalone 0.10.0 release. Check the version offered by each distribution.

For local automation, use the matching CLI and the MCP setup guide. Installing an editor or opening the web demo does not automatically configure an MCP host.

What if installation fails?

First confirm the system and CPU match your download. Use the release’s installation notes for signatures and platform requirements. On Linux, choose a distribution package or AppImage appropriate to your system. Do not bypass an unexplained security warning.

Linux AppImages run without installation. Flatpak bundles need the freedesktop runtime from Flathub. On native Wayland, use File → Open or paste a copied file if drag and drop does not work. The macOS CLI is a separate signed and notarized ZIP. Its first launch needs an online notarization check. See the versioned platform instructions.

A standalone PhotoCraft build runs the editor; the ArtCraft app family and generation studio are separate product contexts. Use the official product page to decide which distribution fits your workflow.

Frequently asked questions

Which PhotoCraft version can I download?

The latest official release checked on October 18, 2026 is 0.10.0. The hosted browser editor also uses 0.10.0. Our recorded headless CLI tests use 0.8.2.

Do I need an account to download?

No. The official release downloads and local editor do not require this site's account or AI credits.

Which CPU architecture should I choose?

Check your system's processor type, then match the release asset. Do not assume that an x64 build fits ARM hardware.

Does this page distribute an installer?

No. Installer links go to the upstream Storytold GitHub release. Check the repository, version and checksum before installing.

Is the browser demo the desktop application?

No. It runs a pinned web build with browser storage, rendering and download restrictions. Desktop and MCP workflows need their own setup.
